Another Pfortzeim
Ok, so we may not have had to restart the RVW Sanctus twice (due at least in part to the fact that we didn’t sing it), but last night’s concert was just as bad - probably worse, depending on your perspective) - than the concert that became the town that became the swear word. My voice being incredibly sore didn’t help. Neither did the Polish crapping-on between each piece, which ruins all momentum. The lack of an interval also meant that I didn’t have the second half’s music: The Nunn, Barber Agnus Dei (Adagio for Strings), Delius, 3 spirituals and wade (encore). Well, with the exception of the Nunn, I quickly found out I knew the rest from memory. Nothing like a concert to figure that out!
After the concert we went to a Polish Pizza Hut-equivalent. Polish food would have been better, but they obviously hold this quasi-Western stuff in high esteem and (comparatively) high prices. Oh well…
I went to bed early last night. I think the 3-4 days cumulative lack of sleep over the last 3 weeks is starting to take its toll. Unfortunately, I’m not able to sleep on transport. Combined with less than ideal beds, I’ve been getting up at 6 most mornings so the back doesn’t hurt too much. It’s working, so no complaints. Just means I’m a fraction tired!!!
I spent 3 hours yesterday at an Internet cafe. Thank god it was running shitty old W98, as I could run PuTTY without having to hack my way through a locked down box like in so many more ’sophisticated’ places. I could also run MSN (after downloading and installing the new Polish version, of course) and hence sort out the survey stuff with Steve.
I nervously checked my bank balances; entering my username and password in sections so as to fool unsiphisticated keyloggers. I’ll still be stuffed by any IE hijackers that capture all form input. I can only assume such things exist. maybe we need to go back to finite state machines
Today we had a decent (but not great) breakfast and are now on the bus to some TPLPT: taking a leaf out of Sir Humphrey’s book and dubbing Lichen a Tin Pot Little Polish Town. The pallindromic effect was just too cool to pass up :p

You really have no idea what the term “solid state” means, do you…

It’s obvious isn’t it? Those liquid ones leak everywhere and get your pants so dirty. Errk.

i meant ‘finite’ state… when you type things on the phone and dont read it again, you make mistakes
