Bienvenue a Geneve

Greetings from Switzerland! As i write this entry, I am engulfed by Lac Lemand and multi-million-dollar real estate on all sides. Gevena is a wonderful place to be. Better yet with a private yacht.

We sang a mass this morning in the Catholic Church in Carouge (in which I have now sung 3 times) to thunderous applause. Yes, at a mass. It is surely a delight to sing to European audiences, and despite a shaky Miserere, a good start to the serious side of tour. We sing our first concert there tonight, and it is for that that we must depart our beautiful surroundings and return - en velo bien s? to rehearsal.

We hired bikes yesterday - a test for my aging and never adequate command of French. It took a little while to realise a sudden increase in price from 80 to 280 francs (4 bikes, 2 days) was not due to foreigner gouging, but rather a deposit. All is well.

Nothing else eventful for yesterday - most of it was spent travelling. German ICE trains are much better than their Swiss equivalent. But still, all were vastly superior to the cattle transportation section of Malaysian airlines (particularly sans emergency exit seatage).

I shall update again this evening. Unfortunately, GPRS roaming is not working for me in switzerland, so these posts will not be sent for a few days yet.
